fuuuck this place, going in here alone was the single most unnerving thing in the game so far
all the other spooky stuff was made less spooky by the fact you have your friends with you, but he tells you "go alone", and it's awful
also, i died more to the teacups than to the boss. teacup ascension got me twice, but the boss only got me once

This area seems like it's from an entirely different game, it's more bit crushed and ruinous than anything else and it just feels so unnervingly empty to the point that I was really anxious by the time I was able to reach that certain something at the end of the tunnel

This area is really weird. The Your Best Nightmare motif, the creepy smile next to the teacup ride, the plugs turning into creepy smiles if you stand for long enough just outside their attack range... I can't help but wonder why there's all these sorta allusions to Flowey in an area where you find Mettaton, of all things. Maybe it has some sort of connection to the TV we see at the end of ch2? I'm really interested to see if there'll be more linkage back to Flowey in ch3, especially considering the fact that it'll take place in an area directly connected to Asriel.

I really like the subtle detail in this area that the walls have little ventilation pc fans carved into the stone. Like ancient technology

FUN fact:

In the teacup room, if you backtrack to where the door vanishes and then run back to the left before the platform rises up, you'll see a smiling face in the darkness.

Found it really weird for Ralsei to just brush that entire boss fight off like it was nothing. Especially after noticing Kris was yelling which had me REALLY concerned

A little lore I picked up on when playing the game a third time:

Spamton was a [BIG SHOT] because he had a roller coaster ride that probably made a lot of money... (The poster after the first Spamton fight that said something about a ride and the Spamton NEO fight takes place on a roller coaster.)

Fun fact: if you do the following:
1. Go far into the hallway on the left
2. Stand close enough to the plug on the wall so that it is completely on screen but doesn’t attack you
3. Attempt to use your phone (and get the Gaster noise)
4. Wait a few seconds
The plug will eventually form a creepy smile.

this was scarier than alphys's lab in undertale. at least there, it was somewhat hospital, and the enemies made you feel like you had company even if they were throwing bullets at you. here, there's no one except a crazed puppet, a disused robot body, and a stupidly dangerous teacup ride.
