I spend $200 to fully test out Sora so you don't have to

I fully tested out Sora and generated over 150 shots in variety of different genres to see if it's worth the hype and the $200 a month price tag.

I also compared it to Runway, one of the leading text to video platforms available today.

In this video, I'll show you the good, the bad and the ugly and share my honest opinion about Sora.

With a $200 monthly plan, I would expect to be a movie director making longer videos that actually make sense.

This is the best video I've seen about this topic so far. Thank you! Great job, man 👏

Thank you for this video. Very thorough, honest and refreshing! I think at this point everybody’s made up their mind, but it’s still cool that you’re giving us the info we need, in order to evaluate who it’s actually for and what it’s clear use cases are right now…

Thanks for the comprehensive video. As a film maker and editor, I agree, it's not worth paying $200/month and I could see many errors in even the good shots. I do like the 3 shot prompts since it's hard to get a sequence that looks consistent. I've played with the new Adobe Firefly video and it's a monstrosity so far. I think AI is still literally a baby, so we will have to wait a few years till it becomes worth using where you can't tell the difference. Really, they should not be charging much or anything at this point. Customer feedback is what they need.

The only way for Sora to win would be if they were working on Sora 2 for a long time since they finished sora, and Sora 2 comes out soon and its ahead of the open source competition.

With the amount of content that SORA offers (along with chat GPT), I do not think that $200 price tag is worth admission, even with unlimited usage. I'm finding that sci-fi related creatures, such as dragons or mythological creatures, are consistently low textured models with a 100% success rate at unrealistic physics (so far). Beyond that, over 80% of basic generations were unusable and I even asked chatGPT for some reasonable prompts I could use. I've already used up all 50 of my video generations in less then a days time. Now I have to sit and wait for credits to reset... But I do have to applaud them for when it does get it right, because it looks incredible.

No way to top up credits and no middle ground between the $20 and $200 version REALLY sucks. Might have to bite the bullet for one month and get the $200 version for one month as a personal Christmas present, but first waiting to see what openAI announces in their "twelve days of openAI" events.

I appreciate you for making this video to show SORA's capabilities. Hopefully they can work out the kinks. I like what is here, but it needs work.

Can I used Video to video feature in $20 plan?

Do the remixes and slight changes count against the credits/generation limits?

It's really necessary to watch review videos like yours before deciding whether to subscribe!thank you !

A bit underwhelming to be honest, after all the hype they created around Sora for 10 months!

Thank you for this and HNY. I follow you on my business channel but I also do creative work so I was curious if you can upload say 10-20 seconds of a moose and a calf walking or a Timelapse of a cityscape, and ask Sora or Runway to use that to create the video? I know you can use a photo but was curious about video. Thanks for your great videos! They help me with research/learning as I become more engrained in the AI space, technology, and community!

I tried Sora a few weeks ago. It seems to be just a beta. It is not simple to create consistency. I tried to do a Christmas short movie, but I couldn't keep the same cartoon characters and no camera control.

For while it is just a toy of trying and mistakes and successes. No use for professional results, yet.

Thank you for your review sir. A lot of us unfortunately can't afford to gamble $200 seeing whether something is worth it or not.

Hi,
Which video generator do you consider to be more efficient between Sora, Runaway and Invideo AI V3? Could you rank them from best to worst based on your tests?
Thank you very much.

Is sora the best out there when it comes to ai video?

Everyone in the comments is complaining... But no one is praising the time period we live in and the extreme mathematical complexities involved in the technology humanity is achieving... But yeah, no to $200 for now.

I think $120 is reasonable for what it offers at this point. However, with the competition out there, it feels like they’re worried and just trying to make a quick cash grab before being overtaken by their competitors. not to mention thats USD not CAD for me
