Noir At A Bar West Chester is the creation of Gary Zenker and began operating in 2017, designed to help local authors expose their work to new audiences. Many of the readers have an association with The Main Line Writers Group, The Wilmington-Chadds Ford Writers Group (both of which Gary founded and runs) or the Brandywine Valley Writers Group, either as members or presenters.

Noir At A Bar holds two events annually. In addition, in 2018 and 2019, it has run a special event in Oxford PA for the benefit of the Oxford Public Library.
