Iniesta welcomes his new Vissel Kobe manager Atsuhiro Miura

Vissel Kobe captain Andres Iniesta said a coaching change was in the best interest of the club after his struggling Japanese J.League side parted ways with manager Thorsten Fink earlier this week.

The Spanish star spoke on Friday as Kobe introduced new manager Atsuhiro Miura, a former Japan international who has served as Kobe's sporting director since 2018 and will take over for Saturday's match against Consadole Sapporo.

Fink, who won the Emperor's Cup and Super Cup after taking over last summer, said he was resigning to spend more time with his family in Germany.

Kobe sit 11th in the J.League tables with 23 points from 20 league matches played.
