Should We Colonize Venus Instead Of Mars?
Venus, being the second planet in the universe, seems to have caught the attention of astronauts yet again and research is being carried out to know how well the planet can sustain a human. Are we about to relocate from Earth? And if so, what is the next big step for mankind?

Instead of Mars/Venus, why he/we doesn't/don't make/ convert deserts into a habitable area, there is lots of surface there, many people can live there ( if there are the conditions).

Big cloud project :

You can make/produce a( thick harmless) giant cloud above Africa/ deserts ( covering it all), it can decreasing 30% of heat, or more .

Thermos project :

You can make giant thermos in deserts, building cities inside it , but filling its walls with air( not with vacuum), that is easier , important is to be the dark/ shadow between two walls of giant thermos, that is sufficient, is it not necessary to make vacuum inside the walls of thermos, but is sufficient be /set the dark/shadow between two walls of thermos, that is sufficient to create a cool area inside the thermos( without vacuum), ( similar things ), so it is giant thermos almost( it is not exactly a thermos).

Hole project :

You can dig/ pierce make make a giant hole inside ( under of surface of deserts building many cities/neighborhoods inside it( like giant thermos inside it ), it would be cool weather( normal temperature )there, ( under the surface)

Floating islands( project) :

You can choose/ find positions on ocean's surface which has normal temperature ( cool weather) and build floating islands there . There is a lot of surface there.

I wonder why they haven’t sent a probe to Venus yet. Its has 92% of earths gravity compared to Mars 38%, its atmosphere protects from radiation unlike the almost non existent atmosphere on Mars, it’s also closer to earth. A rover was already sent to Mars so why not send a balloon or small blimp in the atmosphere to observe what the atmosphere is like. If it’s breathable or not acidic and too hot or if the winds are too powerful. If it’s proven safe enough they should do manned missions and hopefully it’s good enough to establish a floating city.

Great video but to nitpick-Venus actually has plenty of potential water b/c it can be made from the sulfuric acid quite easily.

Second planet in the solar system, not the universe

Venus with is much shorter year gives us many more oportunities to visit that planet.

However protection on Mars isnt as bad as many think. For one the mass of the planet protects you from half of all rays (same as the moon) and the atmosphere does protect you to a degree (plus gives some warmth)

Maybe if Venus wasn't so close to the sun.

Their are many issues with colonising venus that are not presented.
Whilst in many aspects venus is similar to earth and at high altitude more welcoming than mars their are many issues.
First whilst their is a lot of atmospheric ressources, the mineral ressources are today largely inaccessible since the heat prevent us from even sending robots to mine the ressources for any extended period of time. as far as I can tell the longest a probe has survived on mars is juste over an hour. Without mineral ressources, growing the colony independently will be almost impossible.
Next whilst, it is a little bit easier to get to venus than mars, 400m/s easier out of about 13000, getting thing off venus would be much harder at least 5000 m/s harder. That would require at minimum a full blown 2 or 3 stage rocket to take off again. for mars we can likely reuse the lander, that at least the plan with starship.
Next the carbon ressources cited, we don't know how too mass produce.

Water could be collected by dehydrating the sulfuric acid.

Mars is more hostile than Venuses upper atmosphere, that is true, but all the challenges colonizing and collecting ressources from mars have technological solutions that are available today. This is not the case for Venus.

Well we do have the tech to land on venus
but since ATM is soo high ether need a very high specific in pulse engine with less fuel to get back to earth

Can you provide a link on the Sci Fi writer mentioned Paul Anderson? I cannot find info on him on Google or Amazon.

Venus is much better than Mars when astronauts are excluded

Colonize the ant arctic.carefully push the ice into the ocean and clear a spot for habitation.its cold but the air is breathable.anybody that thinks they can breath air on mars is a bit of a nut.
