Thar desert was green till 1, 500 BCE approximately. The Indus valley civilization collapsed because of the monsoon shift.
I think the monsoon is reverting to its previous patterns before the Vedic age.

Desertification is worst than reforestation. 5000 + years ago during Saraswati river thar was green. We should stop desert spreading in delhi, punjab, gujrat and Haryana etc.
