These mixes were taken from multi-generation tape recordings. We have endeavoured to find the original owners in advance but to no avail. We have given these mixes a little audio clean to reduce some of the additional noise of the recording and from tape copies whilst still maintaining some the original vibe.

Who was there when Larry dropped a mix that ill never forget. He played 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4 intro looped on a reel with E2E4 playing together with that reel then he proceeded to just kill it with song after song being mixed over those 2 tracks. I freakin lost my mind that night!

2025 Larry Levan still the best. Imitated. But can not be duplicated. We all go through some things, . Larry was not excluded. We could sense by the the way he played, something wasn't right with him. He played through it and we danced through it for him.

I was fortunate enough to have made it to the GARAGE once before it closed, one night STERLING VOID performed at ZANZIBAR in jersey, where i'm born and raised. And the line was the way out to Broad street and wrapped under the NJT train bridge. So i decided that night to try and check out this other place i'd hear about from time to time. And had it stayed open longer, i think i would've wound up going there more, because in a few short years, TONY would leave for the 🇬🇧 (ministry of sound). While i liked it .... AT THE SAME TIME .... i didn't love it, even though LARRY was incredible, and COULD MIX ... he didn't always do it, where as TONY .... MIXED As long as i went .... well wait, this is about LARRY & THE PARADISE GARAGE .... i am HAPPY i got to go that one & ONLY time. And do and WILL always cherish the experience. RIP 🎛 🎧 TO THE PARADISE GARAGE 🙏 AND ALL THAT PASSED THROUGH THOSE HALLOWED DOORS. 🌴🕊

I was at Twilight Zone, Toronto 84-86 and this beautiful man would visit and bless his audiences on a speaker system designed by Richard Long. An introduction to dance music that touches my soul to this very day and informs the talent of any DJ since when i'm moving on a dancefloor...

Sounds like Larry levan to me I remember 84 King Street New York City also club better days Wednesdays and Sunday nights with t Scott then we would double down on Saturday night in New Jersey at club Zanzibar t Scott Larry Patterson does anybody know what I'm talking about the early eighties of course I really miss club Paradise garage I still got my membership ID how about that let's go back to the club days everybody

So obviously the real deal...The way he extends those dubs esp Dhar Braxton Set me Free...DJ's back then would mix the same track for 10...15 sometimes 20 minutes...The way he messes about with Love Hangover as well...Genius. Recordings like this of Larry live are gold.
