The scene from the Pilot where Master Wu found Cole hits different now. At first, it seemed like a silly scene of Wu finding Cole in a random place. It turns out though, that Cole was in a lot of grief, and climbed the mountain to test his limits (like what he said, “I was testing my limits”) after his mom died. Every time I see the Pilot now, I can’t help but feel sad. How far this show has come 💙 It’s such an underrated masterpiece.

"Sometimes one must be lost in order to be found." I love this line with the context involved because Zane was in fact lost with who he was when Wu found him again.

Implying that Wu met Zane twice, knowing exactly where he was, even when no one really knew about him.

I love how the flashbacks also display just how “homesick” the ninja were, how they were looking back to simpler times, before the disappearance of Sensei Wu, before the Sons of Garmadon and their imprisonment in the First Realm by the Dragon Hunters. Pretty bittersweet if you really think about it.

Love how they kept the old designs in the flashbacks, love the show still keeps its continuity unlike others

Cole’s scene in season 8 makes me genuinely want to sob, especially that transition between the flashback and the present. 3:11 Ahh seasons 8 and 9 were the BEST, although the whole show is an underrated masterpiece 🥳❤️

Even if at first it seems that Zane’s contradicts the pilot, it is also pre-memory wipe which is actually quite clever. This might be the only show I know where the pilot gets more than a nod or two in the show proper.

"To find you, Cole." hits hard

I love how these honestly feel straight out of the pilot/first season. Despite the stylistic differences, it's really almost exactly right our of the pilot. The same music tracks, same cryptic Wu dialogue, I love it.

Wu truly is the most wise being throughout narrative, he is both wise, and calm, strong, yet devoted, and hopeful, but with honor.

Wu: Hello there.
Cole: General Kenobi.

Cole's talk with master wu in season 8 is one of the best moments in television for me. Gives Cole way more depth with such a small scene. And Wu's qoute about grief is amazing. Even though i like the norwegian dub's version better.

Admit it, KAI WAS HELLA RUDE WHEN HE WAS TALKING TO WU FOR THE FIRST TIME

Cole: Sees a suspicious and random old man sitting atop a mountain drinking tea. Doesn't ask questions aside from the basic 'who are you?'

Also Cole: "So, let me tell you my life story."

Coles scene with master wu is so touching but in a way I kinda find Jay's scene sweet considering master wu is probably the only other person besides his parents that treated him with kindness before that point

I appreciate that they bring back the original character styles for flashbacks.

it was sad when Ray and Maya went missing in the pilot episode that made Kai Smith and Nya Smith sad when they were kids
