Virtual Machines vs Dual Booting

When you want to use Windows and Linux side by side should you dual boot or should you use virtual machines.

In this video I give my opinion on which is the better option

I installed Ubuntu 20.04 on a USB drive and it is much easier to use than dual booting off the windows manager. I like using Virtualbox to run Ubuntu on my laptop, it is like having 3 different laptops running at one time and dual booting Linux and windows is a hassle if you don't pull your hard drive out first before installing.

I stopped dual booting early 2010. I stopped, because of the issues with dual booting after Windows updates. So I only installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on the hardware. I needed Microsoft Office for work, so I installed Windows XP Home in SUN's Virtualbox. I never dual booted again. I still use that installation of Windows XP from 14 years ago on my current desktop, but now I use it mainly to play the wma copies of my LPs and CDs with WoW and TrueBass effects.

games, and many other things. only windows can runs everything I need. thanks for explaining Virtual machines! so I need to give a part of my ram and cpu to run well... that's why it was soo bad when I tried. but I never liked the idea of duel booting coz I give up part of my full storage. One question... on the virtual machine storage you also have to give up your storage?

I’m going to do both have vmware on win to do quick tests and if I want to run bare metal I do it on then second drive separately I have a license to run vmware on Linux but I think native kernel build virtualization is better. I have a media player at home that runs sum android version and only plays well with ext4 and connecting a external device true vmware and putting media on it is slow compression/ de compression runs better natively and bare metal behaves differently for sure if learning is the goal. And I need win for my work and school going back to school at 47 haha so learning is the main goal

just use 2 different storage for each OS? why have them on same storage.
