NOT a 1997 Esprit. That is a 2002-2004 Esprit. Round tail lights, front and rear valances, wheels, rear wing are all give-aways.

The Lotus Europa of 1966 was the first mid-engine Lotus street cat, not the Esprit!

This was my dreamcar.. together with the Lotus Elise at that time.. I almost saved all my money when I started working to buy this car.. but it was still not reachable.. I literally forgot about this car.. and I bought bmw's. lexuses and a Audi s8.. all sedans.. I think I will buy this car when the opportunity presents itself..

The rear wing is gorgeous, more so because it integrates itself into the design of the car, instead of looking like an add-on. The Acura NSX also had a well integrated wing and didn't look like a modification. Thanks for a great video review of a beautiful car !

I have a '98 with the same color. The difference between 97 and 98 is that in 98 they changed the dashboard, the rear wing, and to one single fuel tank. Also, the 1997 model did not have the round tail lights and center exhaust.

1. The Lotus Europa was Lotus’s first mid engined car in 1966. 2. Britain’s ‘best’ car is probably the McLaren F1, but are really too many to mention.

Very cool car. Was relieved when the tall guy got rid of his gum.

There are two gas caps because there are two gas tanks. The gas is equalized between the two by a tube. They had to do that because the chassis is a single beam that runs down the center line from the front to the back.

I think this lotus came with an alpine aftermarket CD player, and I think the steering wheel had an airbag from the factory

not the first British mid engined car- earliest I can think of is the ginetta g12 but I bet there’s another before that
