The Flapper Girls of Broadway, ca. 1927 | 16mm Film Scan

Amateur silent movie circa. January 1927. Shot by Bob Alexander of "Alexmore Studios" hailing from Boston. Film showcases a variety of broadway/off-broadway actresses unwinding from their hours on the stage. Unfortunately, I'm unable to pinpoint exactly where this was. The poster in the background for "The Patsy" with a date of Jan 10 indicates this was shot in January 1927; which would align with a showing of "The Girl Friend" done at the Vanderbilt theater in NYC that week.

In addition, "The Girl Friend | Theatre" can be seen on a chest some girls are sitting on around 3:01; and the man at 5:24 looks very similar to Leon Spachner, who was manager of Vanderbilt theater at the time. However, there is the possibility this was shot else where in Massachusetts or the greater area.

Flicker reduction had to be applied from about 6:10 to 9:10.

Strange how none of the women are smoking a cigarette. Most are quite attractive-looking women. They are all gone now.
