Honda MT5 50cc Starting Up

The Honda MT50 is an off road styled two stroke moped, common in Scandinavia and the Netherlands but also sold in other countries like UK and USA, that is more commonly known as the Honda MT5. Some countries had restricted versions designed to be ridden by learners. Its leading competitor was the Yamaha DT50MX. Production started 1979 and ended 2000. It stopped being imported in 1983 to be replaced by mtx50 but was later reintroduced in 1990. Its sister was the MB50/MB5 which was the road styled version of the bike.
This is my MT5 road bike which is now for up for auction. The bike is standard and is only showing 1200 miles. obviously the mileage cannot be guaranteed for a thirty two year old motorcycle but the cycleparts would perhaps suggest this could well be genuine but please do not rely on this. This is the 1982 restricted to 30 mph version.
The bike starts and runs easily, runs cleanly with no untoward engine noises whatsoever, runs on tick over from either cold or hot, starts first kick. Selects gears and drives well, brakes and electrics operate as they should.
Frame and swing arm have been powder coated and are very clean. Shocks look recent and the wheels are in good condition. Forks have no pitting and are straight. Paintwork is standard on the tank. The exhaust is standard and undamaged.
All the bikes needs is indicators and a chain guard.
If you are looking for a decent old school moped, you could do a lot worse than this tidy example.
