10 SYMPTOMS OF A FAILING FUEL PUMP GOING BAD (STALLING AND CRANK BUT WON'T START)

In this video I discuss all the signs and symptoms of a failing vehicle's fuel pump. If you're experiencing intermittent stalling, no start, hard start, start and stall there is a good chance you're dealing with a bad fuel pump. Also, I discuss all the possible causes, problems and how to check for a bad fuel pump i.e. checking fuel pump fuse and relays, connection, wires and to listen for buzzing noise. When the fuel pump is on its way out it should be replaced as soon as possible.

Great video indeed top 5 one other thing that could make the fuel pump fail is a weak battery or a battery with bad battery cells, as this will cause a lack of voltage making the fuel pump work harder to send more gas to the engine, ultimately leading to a burnt out fuel pump.

So make sure that you have a good battery as well. Also, a faulty or a weak fuel pump relay can cause this problem too.

Thank you for explaining everything really well. This is exactly what’s happening to my truck. My low fuel pressure light came on a few weeks before my car stopped on me. It won’t crank, it was stalling, it kept turning off on me especially on red lights. I bought a fuel pump and I’m getting it changed out today.

Great video. You actually explained hot heat can effect a fuel pump. My 95 Chevy only starts at night 😮. After the sun gets high or if I go for a short drive, it cranks but will not start unless I use starter fluid, then it quickly shuts right down. You nailed it. Thanks

You right on target I am experiencing all the symptoms. Nissan sentra filter is in the tank everything on the pump in tank. Replace all fuel injectors 02 sensors spark plugs ignition coils as you drive lose fuel pressure and causing misfire and engine. stalling vibration.

Thanks for this very informative video . My 2000 honda accord just shut off and i tried starting but there is cranking and no start. So i ordered some new spark plugs and spark plug test kit, fuel pump main relay and a new fuel pump. If there is no spark i might look into a new distrubitor and spark plug wires as well. 😅

I had my chevy malibu 2013 stalling 3 times at highway speeds. Looking for the problem I started replacing the thorthle body as it was dirty i had no stalling after that but then after some time I noticed rought iddle I opened the gas cap and a rattle noise is coming from the tank when watching your video I decided to bought the fuel pump

I just changed my spark plugs in my 2004 pajero petrol.

After changing the spark plugs the car does not start.

What may be the cause please?
