Drafted 14th overall in the 1983 NBA Draft, Clyde Drexler put up a respectable 7.7 points during his rookie season.

His numbers would only grow with playing time, blossoming into an All-Star by ‘86, while putting up 18, 6 and 8 on respectable efficiency.

The Trailblazers would reach the NBA Finals twice under Clyde the Glides leadership. Unfortunately, they would fall short on both occasions, losing to the Pistons in 1990 and the Bulls in 1992.

Drexler would peak between ‘87 and ‘92, recording 24, 7 and 6 a game on nearly 50% from the field.

He would be traded to the Houston Rockets on February 14, 1995. Partnered with Hakeem Olajuwon, Drexler and the 6th seeded Rockets would sweep the young Orlando Magic in the NBA Finals, taking home Drexler’s only championship.

Drexler would play two and a half more seasons in Houston before announcing his desire to retire following the ‘97-’98 season.

Over his career, he would average per-game figures of 20.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists.

These numbers just don't seem as impressive nowadays. Players get touched and go to the line. A good, hard foul is now a flagrant and players are so comfortable shooting the 3 these days because the defensive player can't get close to them without risking a 4pt play plus a flagrant.
