If u don’t know what happened in 1857 between Indians and Britain I will help. Before 1857 the britishers had came in India for trade purposes, soon for protection of their trading outputs they got involved in a bit of local politics which enlightened a sudden greed to rule a whole country. The east India company was given monopoly of country and from then the British started exploiting Indian resources; they stopped export of cotton goods to England instead imported the raw material I.e cotton to England which would then turn it into products and send to India to be sold, this overall was a huge blow to the Indian textile industry. This was only one of the reason why the war of independence happened. The British also brought many changes to British India; westernisation, which basically included enabling of Co education and also teaching English in schools overall called Minute on education. The spark to start the fire was when they introduced the greased cartridge, greased with cow and pig fat cow being sacred for Hindus and pig being forbidden for Muslims as they were needed to be opened with mouth. It was then so many revolts were witnessed and marked the start of mistrust between Indians and British. At the end British were the winners of the war as the Indians didn’t have a leader, there aims weren’t vague, the differences between them were great and British were determined to keep control. This war eventually led to independence of India and partition of Pakistan.😊
