Cinderella Castle Dream Lights 💔

I remember going to Disney for thanksgiving in 2015 and seeing the castle dream lights and the lights the used to put up in Hollywood studios where Galaxies edge and Toy Story land are now😢

dreamlights were amazing. they are the difference between spending an evening in mk during the holidays and spending an evening at HS or DS.

There soo pretty. Now disneys trying to replace them with projections and stuff which doesn’t look as pretty

The only thing Mickey ever did to disappoint me was get rid of the Dreamlights. I saw them 3 of the years they were there and continue to be devastated seeing the castle without them at the holidays.

The Osborne Christmas Lights were amazing too at Hollywood Studios

We were there early December 2018 and went to the VMMCP. The castle and everything was so magical.

During my DCP in 2019 I worked on Main Street (shout out strollers!) and i didn’t know about the dream lights I was looking down toward the castle and I saw the lights come on and I bawled like a little baby it was so gorgeous!

Our 1 trip to MK was in 2017 during the Christmas season so my only pics of the castle are Dream light pics. They were special then but even more so now.

Considering that Disney is making billions on the parks, they could easily afford this, if necessary cut back a bit on fireworks. Saw this in either 2016 or 17, was fantastic.
The cynical part of me believes Disney is not doing this because guests loved it

Actually it’s probably more likely that dream lights weren’t brought back because the two Xmases that fell within the 50th Anniversary celebration had the special blue bunting decoration of the castle that was specific to the 50th and that there are now projections on the castle during the Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks.

Then Disney hoped nobody would remember/notice after the 50th celebration was over.

I always just assumed it interfered with the current light show and was a struggle to put together each year

They could pay for those lights with what they’re charging for parking alone. So sick of their greed. Guests spend way more money than ever before for way less of an experience. Even the Christmas party has had massive changes, wayyyy before covid/inflation. It was so fun to get warm, fresh cookies and milk all around magic kingdom during the Christmas party, that really added such a special and wholesome feel to the whole thing. Went back 2 years later and they were handing out those super cheap sugar cookies (wrapped to death in plastic, not fresh) you can buy at Walmart that taste like nothing and SNOW CONES instead of milk🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ It literally costs less than 10 cents per person to hand out snow cones, they could not have picked a cheaper, less magical pairing🙄 And no one wants a snow cone at 10PM when you’re wearing a coat and gloves because it’s cold!
