i know serration have it's own thing but plain edge is good enough for me... i can maintain my knife. Plain edge can be use for general use especially on survival.

Check out veff serration or the flat top serration, for me it cuts better and is easier to sharpen.

Take away the super needle like crests, and you have a knife that when properly sharpened cuts like a plain edge.

Sharpening a serrated edge is as easy or easier than sharpening a plain edge.

Serrated edges are great until you have to whittle or shave down something to without it having deep grooves in it from the peaks on the edge

Nah, it's all purpose based. Furthest I'd aver go is half serrated. If you buy a quality steel, sharpening doesn't matter much. Also get a worksharp precision adjust and it makes sharpening way easier.
