Would be interesting to see DarkBert construct code to restore a corrupt zip file.
Last week I changed 2 bytes of binary in a .zip and so far no software has been able to detect the 'corruption'.
The zip opens in various well-known compression software, but no files can be extracted without giving an error. ChatGpt 4 could not tell me where the 2 bytes had been changed. So I think we still have far to go.
When I restored the 2 bytes back to their original place, the archive was able to show it's contents and extraction was possible. I'm sure Gigs of data can lie around in the darkweb in 'corrupted' zip files which technically are not 'corrupted', just manipulated.
