DIVLJANA LAKE near BELA PALANKA, SERBIA (subtitle)

Divljana Lake is an artificial reservoir located at the foot of the Suva Mountain, between two medieval villages Divljana and Mokra. It is about 5 km away from Bela Palanka, on the way to the town Babusnica.

It was made in 1983 by damming the Koritnica River. It is so-called compensation dam, made to enable the deposition of sediment and sludge.

The surface area of the lake is about 8 hectares and the depth is around 5-6 meters.

The lake today is rich in fish, primarily with Carp and Chub, but as well with Grass Carp, Carp Bream, Asian Carp, Prussian Carp, Trout…
