So these all protect you if you've installed bad apps, but what about a virus that enters through that double-free exploit when you get sent a GIF image?
I got notifications about "shared" files and because the stupid UI mistook my swipe for a click it not just opened the notification, it opened the file without asking!
Neither ESET nor BitDefender are finding anything. I did do a factory reset on my phone within a minute of that happening, but if the virus is smart enough it would have overwritten the permanent data so that it gets back in after reset.

you need to enable storage scan in settings tab of norton mobile security then it will scan for downloaded files

Yep, Norton is garbage and a waste of money. I used it because I know my ex has a key logger. Norton didn't find anything but it kept giving me pop ups and up sells. It didn't find anything in the scans I paid for but kept showing other potential breaches that I would have to pay for. Terrible

I have malware on my android phone. I tried multiple antivirus apps and nothing worked to remove the malware! Of course, people always say "do a factory reset!" NO! The virus makers win that way! Why should they? I refuse to be defeated! I know there is Microsoft Essentials type of antivirus for android phones!
