In Step It Up, Traci Young-Byron, a former Miami Heat Dancer and longtime team captain, is the owner of the elite dance company, the Young Contemporary Dance Theatre (YCDT). Traci's competitiveness leads her to use unconventional methods to motivate her co-ed dance team.

I love the way you confront issues right then and there on the spot. You are teaching tomorrow's children life ethics, business and professional ethics and skills. I super love what you're doing. Trust and believe my sister and I talk about you on a regular. If we had an opportunity to have our children work under you and learn from you we would. Keep up the good work and stay encouraged despite any negativity.

Ugh, girl. It's an art gallery, not a theater. As someone who has performed MANY events just like this, it's not that deep.

There are other things going on at an art gallery, and some people JUST DON'T CARE FOR DANCE IN GENERAL! If people watch great. If they don't, oh well. It comes with the territory when performing at venues like this.

People typically don't scream mid performance because they think it would be distracting to the dancers. In places like this, people hold their applause until THE END.

And to everyone turning this into a white vs black issue, grow up.
