I followed Helen's LPs - I always loved her. This video is rare, but delightful.

This is great. I love this song, and yes she sings it differently, but there is so much soul in this. That's where it's at. I've seen singers get older and try to sing their old stuff and it's painful to watch, but not this - this is perfect.

Aunt to the legendary songwriter, singer Laura Nyro. Mother of Alan Merrill. What a family!

My God, she aged into her voice. That first verse is amazing.

Wow.... Ii presume that this is a recent recording...and I think she still sounds fantastic!!! The voice *has* deepened slightly....and there's'a sort-of "raspiness" (for want of a better word) which I picked up on her last "Lilac Wine' album but I reckon that it just adds to her appeal Excellent stuff, Thanks so much f or posting it, Any more where that came from: ::-)

Still came back to catch her on on this. I'm now a fan whatever age she might become.
What year was this performed ?

Maybe there's a change in her voice. Somehow she has more soul with this sound.
