📜When we invest in women and girls, we are investing in the people who invest in everyone else.

📜If you want to lift up humanity, empower women. It is the most comprehensive, pervasive, high-leverage investment you can make in human beings

I want to differ with Dr JP on his views on this topic. Empowering different sections of the society is welcome, but women making a difference in the politics is a far fetched optimism. Take Indira, Jayalalitha and now Mamatha, all powerful leaders, did they make any difference in people’s lives?!

And saying that the BC quota etc within women quota should be in the hands of parties is a very surprising thing I heard from JP. Is he blind sided to what these parties are doing today in giving the party seats, for all of BRS candidates how many Reddy’s and Velma’s compared to other sections of the society?!

I think this women reservations with BC, SC etc quota is mandatory but should be limited only to next 15 years. Strictly with no extensions. If parties can’t change the participation/empowerment of everyone within these 15 years then there’s no point in even having it. I’m actually against the reservation but seeing how the parties are distributing their tickets would say, there should be reservation to the proportion of sections of the society like BC, SC, ST and minorities. And it should be strictly for 15years only.
