This is 3.0 version and it's great to see a brand that listens to their customer's feedback and strives to improve their products. I'm also really happy to see brands are starting to make much larger options for hamster owners.

hey victoria! i lost my hamster recently and it’s been quite hard. i got a new one and to my surprise it was pregnant! i have 3 hamsters i can take care of properly because of you! Thank you so much for helping me go through one of the hardest animal loses and help me taking care of my animals.

Front opening doors are also places Syrians like to chew in my experience. They sense air flow and try to chew their way out. I tend to prefer top opening enclosures for that reason. When you put the front panel in backwards, I thought, "oh hamsters might like that so they can open the door themselves." LOL

victoria, i just wanted to say that because of your videos my little roborovski would have been living in a 50 sq inch enclosure (yes, that small) but now i upgraded his house to be much bigger and ordered some clean & cozy which he is loving! so thank you SO much :)

I built two of them, the first one was a nightmare but the second time I used the extra plastic square and used a wiggling technique to fully push the rubber seals into the grooves, once it’s completely open the panels slide in very easily. That part took the longest ensuring that it was all opened and pushed to each side. After this, slotting in the panels and top was easy and no panel bowing.

I have 3 Bucatste's and I personally really love them. The ONLY thing I really do not like about the Bucatstate cages are the clips for the door. They constantly pop off and some pop off SO easily, and are clear which makes them a nightmare to find in the bedding/house. I fixed the issue by super gluing them together so they don't pop off anymore, but I feel like the clips should have just been much stronger to hold together.

I love that they are stackable, which is a plus for me. :)

My dad and I just set up this cage last night! It was a GIANT PAIN IN THE BUTT to get the plexiglass in correctly!
It took us hours! I even watched this review, trying to figure out how to do it and I’m sorry to see you had the same problem!
However, my dad is amazing and he somehow finally got the panels in!
I’m actually disabled (thank you for mentioning those with disabilities!!) so my dad did most of the hard work.
I do have to say that we ended up doing it differently than the instructions said.
We put one side panel in first, then slid in one side frame. Then we got the back panel on, slid in another side frame, then put the other side in, then the front, then slid in the side frames, and only after all that did we screw them down.
Once we finally got it all put together, the enclosure is absolutely perfect.
No bowing on the front or anywhere else, and the front door closes well.
My Syrian girl seems to be very content in this cage! Which I am so happy about!
I do worry that she might try to chew the side slits, but so far she hasn’t.

This is an old video, but my wife and I had the same trouble with the rubber runners until we saw a video where someone put tape in the slots. I wish we had seen it three hours earlier (yes, it took us that long) because once the tape was lining the slots, the panels went in easily.

hi victoria, my cage actually came with a plastic piece that u have to "force" into the rubber to be able to widen the rubber in order for the plastic to be able to slotted in. it took a very long time, but im overall really happy😅

Hi, great review. I have just assembled one of these for my daughter, it came with a small acrylic cut off, which you push into the seals (top & bottom) in order to open them up before assembly (note: the panels will not seat correctly & sit on top of the seal, if this is not done). I also placed a couple of a4 printer paper sheets over the leading edge of one seal which did not stay fully open, this helped guide the panel into the seal rather than squashing it! just pull out the paper, before pushing the panel home. The enclosure is really good, but the top & bottom seals do make assembly a little more difficult than it should be.
