Sandwiches of Canada - Japadogs (Vancouver BC). I first tried Japadog shortly after they opened their first sit down place on Robson St in 2010 and I've been thinking about it ever since. Since then it's become one of, if not the signature sandwich of Vancouver. I'm sad it took me 15 years to finally try to make one myself, but I'm delighted by the results and will be making the Terimayo dog much more often in the future.

Love your channel! It's always great to see a new episode. The hotdog is a perfect base for so many delicious creations. Given our German roots, sauerkraut, mustard, and onions are always my favorite, but growing up near Chicago the Chicago dog (mustard; pickle; tomato; relish; onion; and sport peppers on a poppy seed bun) is a classic as well. Love it! I'm a BC boy & I like to try to recreate my favorite specialty rolls in the style of Japadog. Two recent winners have been a spicy mayo + katsuobushi + panko sprinkle + green onions with salted and fried cabbage under the wiener, and a julienned cucumber + chogochujang + kewpie mayo + panko and lemon juice sprinkle. The "Fantastic" and "Crispy Volcano" rolls, respectively, from local suburban joint "Sushi and Roll."

I think the nori used at Japadog is the unseasoned kind used for making sushi instead of the crispier Korean-style roasted snack nori seasoned with sesame oil and salt. Honestly, your version sounds like it may be better :D

Do you really give your kids seaweed for a lunch snack??? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔 They need to be eating cupcakes, cookies and ice cream for snacks, not salted grass of the sea. Also, I hope you gave your adorable dog part of your sandwich after eating right in front of her like that. Cool video!!!
