So simple, and so stretchy! This is my new favorite bind-off, good to use whether you need a little or a lot of stretch. A good matching cast-on is the German Twisted CO, video here:

Instructions for working this BO in 2x2 rib:
Step 1: K 2 stitches, insert the left needle into the front of the two stitches you just worked, wrap the back needle and knit them together (k2tog tbl)
Step 2: P 1 stitch, Insert left needle into the back of the two stitches you just worked, wrap the front needle and purl them together (p2tog)
Step 3: Repeat Step 2
Step 4: K 1 stitch, insert the left needle into the front of the two stitches you just worked, wrap the back needle and knit them together (k2tog tbl)
Step 5: Repeat Step 4
Repeat Steps 2 through 5

Instructions for working this stitch in any other stitch combination:
K every knit stitch, and k2tog tbl it with the other stitch on the right needle
P every purl stitch, and p2tog it with the other stitch on the right needle

Information on things you'll see in this video:
The shawl I'm wearing (not my design) can be found here:

The needles I use are Knitter's Pride Bamboo DPNs:

The bulky yarn I used is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky in colors Crush, Yonder, and Honey:

The nail polish I'm wearing is by Julep, color "London".

I went down two needle sizes and it got rid of the flare while maintaining the stretch! LOVE this bind off!!!

I swear that almost every time I have a knitting issue, when I Google it, or open YouTube, one of the very first things I see is one of your videos that just happens to be THE perfect solution. LOVE this bindoff! Thanks so much! :)

Stop the flare! Every 3rd or 4th stitch, bind off the traditional way? I still have the stretch needed for my socks and when the sock is off there is little to no flare. Easy to adjust based on needle and yarn choices.

Thank you for this. It's because of you that I can knit a raglan sweater. I haven't stopped once I learned !

What Linguavert said! I come back every time, and there it is. Thank you! It's like calling Mom for that ingredient you can't remember from your favorite family recipe!

I used your stretchy bind-off for a shawlette with perfect results! Now I'm going to use it on the bottom end of a cardigan. I'll likely return to view this video again. Thanks for keeping this video available.

Game changer!!! Just took up knitting after years of putting the needles away, made 3 Christmas sweaters with the neck holes too tight!, now I will pull them apart and redo the bind off stitching.. lots of work but it will be worth it .Thank you

I really struggled to get the yarn through on the k2tog, but switched to a crochet needle and it works like a charm!

That is so good!
I am a tight knitter, and my casts off were shocking - this solves my problem.

Thanks, definitely strechy, and I like the way it respects the K and P of the previous line.

Relatively beginner knitter, made a cowl and was not to happy by the tight bind-off...well, now I will definitely be knitting one up again using this bind-off. Thank you!

You're awesome. I ripped out my ribbing once after doing a regular bind off. Then I ripped to the lifeline (which I also learned from you) after trying a bind off following the pattern. Still no good. Glad I check in with you. It came out perfect!! Thanks so much.

Thank you for this one! Just had to rework baby collar. Went from 14” to an 18” circumference! Now it won’t rip off ears 😸
