Not to knock this show, it has really impressive VFX, but Netflix LOVE any type of magical display that can simply be mimed by the actors. Raise hand, necks twist and people fall. No money spent on VFX there, but also later makes you wonder "Why did X not just snap Y's neck then too?"

Love the show but the lack of a magic system in this is annoying. They say that there is a cost to magic. The beginning they show a hand getting all fucked because they levitated a rock. A nose bleed from snapping 20 necks. Then you’ve got them dying to special arrows whilst they are standing there channeling magic to shoot an air blast at someone instead of just (like before) snapping some necks. Is it the difference between using magic against elves vs humans and to kill elves with magic it costs more or what?
