As always, I love your view and agree!

This is tough bcuz a signature will have people coming to you for your originality. But after a while you style will no longer be the in thing and you’ll end up having to reinvent yourself or get forgotten about

I completely agree with this. I've always jumped from genre to genre but as I've progressed and begun to find certain production tricks and sounds that work for me I'll tend to insert stuff I'd consider "my sound" into whatever genre I'm making at the time. so it's like I'm simultaneously sticking to one sound whilst doing multiple genres and I think it's working pretty well for me

For the Glow contest I ended up doing a fusion of several genres - and I don’t know why, I just felt like it 🤣. Great advice though as usual. I keep coming back for more. 💪

I can say this. I struggle too much to stay consistent in a specific sound or genre. so i wouldnt be able to make albums for example. and if i had a fanbase larger than my own friends i wouldnt be able to give them what the expect from me. unless they expect something completely different each time.

I've recently dabbled in making a 80's flavoured Synth-pop album, a complete departure from all the indie guitar music I've made for years. Really refreshing

I love all genres except trendy genres. To me it doesn’t matter how popular something is at the moment, trendy music comes and goes and I won’t waste my time on that. ie trap music crunk music

To be that flexible to jump from say a rap record to a classical music symphony. Those are very rare birds.

good advice, but what happened to your hair!?

Multiple styles, but like Nono says in an interview, no matter what you do it still sounds like you, so we all have a signature style 😉

You need to apply a comb filter to your barnet, Warren! 😂

As in any musical endeavor, a tremendous amount of luck/ right place / right time is required.
Having a project garner some
success( critical is good but a certAin
I thin A&R people ( and their bosses) can hold people back.
Warren would know more about this then me but it used to be managers were very important but now the music industry has been so demonetized there's very little money for anyone to make.

What do you think the future of work is for producers who aim to only work with physical bands playing real drums/bass/guitars etc.?

Talent and Versatility are the keys for success..Work on everything that’s not nailed down

I find it awesome how different genres treat the same instruments. I get the same thrill from making a kick drum sound like a machine gun for metal as I do making it sound like a mini earthquake on say a hip-hop track

I only really enjoy metal tbh. If I ended up having to produce modern pop music, I'd probably end up in a noose.

The '"signature style" in this video is a LOT of the Hair Inflator countered by a LOT of the Eyebrow Decapitator.
😉😉🤭😂
Jokes aside, as producing is mostly about the human factor, getting the most out of the artist and doing what most benefits the song, being a useful/proficient producer in many genres is definitely possible.
But, if a "production style", as per the question, is meant as a sound and sonic signature, well then it's unrealistic and dispersive to try to be equally good, respected and even recognizable in e.g. rap and metal and jazz and ethnical and dance pop.
