I've been on void for years after switching from arch, it has been the best distro i have ever used, hands down

You installed a lightweight distro that was created with philosophy of minimalism, lightness, and cutting out the bloat in mind, but you're not happy with it being light and minimalistic? You're a damn genius...

For new users coming over from Windows I would say Linux Mint. That was the one that got me started on Linux because it looks so much like Windows 7 and has all of the tools, an update manager, and software centers to help you get set up. It also come with a lot of apps installed so you won't have to install anything. I now use Debian as I am more experienced with Linux and Apt. What I like about Debian is that you get to choose the desktop environment you want and what software you want to install. So Debian is now my number one and Linux Mint is number two. But for new users and those who don't want to tinker a lot Linux Mint is the best one. It's always updated and Mint have just released Linux Mint 22 yesterday.

Switched from Mac to Linux Mint (happily) six months ago… saw a few Void videos recently, became intrigued, and installed Void as my daily driver! No distro hopping for me, and learning LOTS about Linux! Only a single installation glitch: on ThinkPads choosing the graphical boot can hang your system and prevent it from booting. Avoid this if you encounter such a problem!

Looks like Arch and Void are a pain in the butt if you have to set it up again and again. Long time puppy user here where I can have a fully functional system up within 10 minutes.
