You are about the only "maker" anymore that has gotten back to just sharing the build. This in my opinion is the best method to teach someone, let me see you do it and then I can do it. Thanks for your videos that allow the hobbyist to be taught.

One my favorites from recent vids. The editing/commentary was seriously on point here, 12 minutes flew by like nothing and the footage was packed with info even beyond what you covered in the narration.

Even a few years old, this video has some great tips. Your unconventional approach always creates some unique ideas. ie. Love your simple clamping blocks!

I love the fact that you accomplished everything with no fancy tools. That is true talent.

"Woodworkers do, but we're not normal."
Well said.

Nice work, innovation, design, and commentary John!
This is one of the many reasons I like your videos.
You thinking in a "bigger box" than the norm, i.e. outside the box of most people, but within the confines of your own philosophy. Good stuff!

That's what I love about your channel. You do really beautiful work without all the high tech precision jointery and expensive tools. Keep it simple.

I really respect how you take tools and make other tools from them. The table saw as a point. Your reasoning for building or making a joint etc etc is so good. I like the attitude of this will work as it is more than strong enough. This build was plainly very smart and well thought out. Great job. I am learning so much from you, thank you for that.

Great work John! I used to do similar fixes on the pin nails and other pneumatically fastened nails but now I just bend them over a few times until they work harden and break off(23 ga. to 16ga.). So far, a 100% of the time they break off below the wood surface with no tool marks and no trying to grab with a pliers or vise grip, with that being said I'll probably experience the exception some day. It really doesn't leave anything more than the original tear out and is much faster. Give it a test on some scrap, I think you'll find similar results. Keep up the great work, I always look forward to your vids.

I have watched this video a number of times but I keep coming back to watch it again and again. The result is beautiful and it's a really interesting way of building them. I learn and get ideas every time. Thanks.

I think you are doing a great job. I have all of the good, commercial tools, and I can't make stuff as good as you are making.

Great job John! The door frame method is brilliant. One thing I noticed is how you prepare the stock, (like most I've seen on these type videos), when you joint the face and put it down and reach for another. How about; joint one face and flip it around and joint the adjacent edge. After you finish those parts plane the faces to thickness, then reset the planer and plane the rough edges. Finally plane all the styles and rails to final width. My last pass is on the finishing speed that leaves a very smooth edge. To me that seems the most efficient. Not only are we woodworker a strange bunch but very opinionated!

I’ve been putting off building cope and stick doors because of all the work. This biscuit method looks great!

Wow man, no nonsense carpentry for the everyday work around the house. Kudos!

Those came out very nicely. The biscuit as a spline is a great idea.

I dig it.
