Hermann may be the heart, but Severide is the one who has become most like Boden. He should have been promoted to Captain long before now and the one taking over 51. It would have been a seamless change. Hermann is a 'counselor' character, but he's also a hot-head and rash-responder who usually has to be talked down from the tower by the others. I just don't see Christopher being the head of 51... unless they rewrite his character making him more mature and getting rid of his self-confidence issues. And, what about Kelly? Is he really going to be okay having Hermann as his superior? I'm thinking the producers may be setting us up for Captain Severide taking over OFI. Regardless, I'm a Fire junkie and can't wait until Fall!!
