Performance tail lights? Surely they'll add 5 to 10 horsepower.

I have the same tail lights. When key on but vehicle not running and headlights turned to on they work perfectly but when I turn headlights to auto or crank the vehicle they flash a few times and stop working. Any ideas?

Ok my ram rebel has a tailgate cable and a strut setting right over that top screw. Looks a lot more complicated now
