Dark Souls 3 - Hawkwood's Questline (FULL NPC QUEST WALKTHROUGH w/ COMMENTARY)

Welcome to my last video in my "Dark Souls III NPC Questline Walkthrough" guides! I conclude the series with Hawkwood. Hawkwoods quest itself is very simple to follow. Basically what you need to do is have the 3 Dragon Stones that you can find on the way to and in Dragon Peak, then speak with Andre in Firelink, then head to the Abyss Watcher's boss room and kill Hawkwood to get the fourth Dragon Stone.

To begin Hawkwoods quest, you can speak with the Crestfallen soldier just as you enter Firelink Shrine. He is sitting next to Yhorms throne just on the steps. He will explain his dread and conniptions towards the high and mighty Lords of Cinder and that we are unfit to be in their league, then proposes you to collapse in despair due to the knowledge.

After going through the High Wall of Lothric and killing Vordt of the Boreal Valley, Hawkwood will have new dialogue for you. You can go back to him and speak or you can continue on with the game until the Abyss Watchers and exhaust all his dialogue then.

After defeating the "Curse-Rotted Greatwood", "Crystal Sage" or the "Deacons of the Deep", then head back to him for new dialogue and he will give you a Heavy Gem. At this point he seems to give you more tips on the game and lore aspects as well.

After going through Farron Keep and defeating the Abyss Watchers, go back to him and exhaust his dialogue to gain the Farron Ring. Now he is available to be summoned for 2 late game bosses: "Oceiros, The Consumed King" and "The Nameless King"... all having relation with dragons... curios. Pick up the "Path of the Dragon" gesture in the room beyond the bonfire room after you kill "Oceiros, The Consumed King".

When you make your way to the Archdragon Peak and through the Irithyll Sewers, make sure you get the 3 Dragon Stones:

Dragon Torso Stone -
Found on a Dragon Statue thats sitting in the Path of the Dragon facing the peak, in the Irithyll Sewers. From the Profaned Capital Bonfire, head backwards until you meet the room with the multitudes of Jailers just drifting around with jail cells on either side of the room. Head straight ahead and up the stairs and to your left is carpet with a Dragon Statue and a bunch of corpses that failed to travel to the peak due to incorrect gestures. Pick up the shiny from the Dragon Statue to get the Dragon Torso Stone.

Dragon Head Stone -
Kill the Ancient Wyvern boss in Archdragon Peak to acquire this Stone. Navigate around the boss arena until you find a ledge that leads to a drop on the dragon. Walk off the ledge positioned directly above the Wyverns head and press R1 while dropping.

Twinkling Dragon Torso Stone -
From the bonfire closest to The Nameless King boss room (the "Great Belfry Bonfire"), head outside down the stairs and kill all the proceeding Man-Serpents on your way up to the cliff side. At the top of this cliff, is an alter. Perform the Path of the Dragon in front of the alter as you are facing the giant canyon in front of you with the deceased Giant Wyvern and you will receive the "Twinkling Dragon Torso Stone" after a few seconds of sitting there.

Now, once you have the 3 Dragon Stones, head to Firelink Shrine and speak with Andre to obtain "Hawkwood's Swordgrass". At this point, Hawkwoods shield can be found in front of his grave outside of Firelink Shrine. Go outside and make a left turn where the dog is and he's shield is in front of the grave with the Abyss Watchers Ultra Greatsword leaned against it.

Make your way to the Abyss Watchers boss room, and Hawkwood will be waiting for you, for a just duel. He wants to be the chosen Dragon and wants to take all your stones, and he will if you die to him. But you get them back once you kill him plus the Twinkling Dragon head that he has.

I had summoned Hawkwood before ringing the bell to Namless and he helped me clear out the area and once we reached the top, he sat at the tomb

U got it wrong about summoning in hawk wood for the nameless king, u use his summon to help u clear out the area to the twinkling dragon head

I consider myself a veteran of the souls series; I've done all those cancerous challenges, learned all the lore and such about all the games, learned to parry like the madlad fighterpl himself, yet I've found something I've never known surprisingly. These questlines didn't necessarily help me, but made me love the game even more for the tremendous detail. Of course I knew most of them but not all of them, and I wanted to thank you for this very precise guide from a little YouTuber, but no matter how big you are shit you must put some work in these videos.
