I readed all his books and those of Willy Ley, with Chesley Bonestell Arts. They are the greatest books about the Space Project of the 1950's and true Historical achievements of the 1960's. Those written before Nasa existed and during the Space Programs. Wernher von Braun is a great teacher.

Space station 1000 miles high? Before the Van Allen belts were known about, rendering that higher Earth orbit unusable for crewed vehicles.

This was all severely hypothetical and pure theory. Assuming the rockets were even reliable enough. 0 chance of any of this happening

Well, they got one thing right. One of the first men to orbit the moon was named Frank.

It was at that presentation when the US government realised: Aw, fuck it! This is too hard! We'll make a movie instead - but probably way earlier

The V2 was only possible because of thousands of slave laborers from concentration camps forced to build the parts of the rockets. "12, 000 laborers and Nazi concentration camp prisoners died as a result of their forced participation in the production of the weapons."

I’m not down with propping up someone who’s responsible for hundreds of thousands of British people losing their lives!!
We were bombed quite heavily here in the south west.
