This is happening with people all over the world, especially with young men. You can't threaten or shame people who, in their despair, have simply given up.

A common conversation among the youth my daughter included is that no matter how hard they work they wont be able to afford a home and being over taxed.

The white collar vs blue collar job is happening in America, too, after decades of shoving a college education down our throats. Now you have very educated fast food workers. But no carpenters.

I don't think youth giving up is limited to China. I'm hearing about quiet quitting, giving up on life milestones, and not marrying / having kids around the world. The younger generations around the world feel that their dreams are out of reach and there's no hope for the future.

Same in Canada. Everything is so expensive, the food was 2x compared to pre-pandemic level, housing is 10x more expensive than annual household income of $200k. Everything is doubled except Salary. LOL

As I read online, so many countries are in chaos, and it's ALWAYS the Govt .and not the millions of people who are not in control. The people are captive, angry and powerless.

What's happening in the USA is similar. "Quite quitting" and the amount of youth that have the "why bother? I'll never be able to afford a house, car, wife/husband and 2.5 kids with how impossible it is anymore."

Having a regular job for 10 years won't get you the "American dream" anymore. It will take 3 regular jobs 10 years to afford the dream. It's so stacked against the youth right now, everywhere, apparently. It's sad.

Even with all the incredible groundbreaking technological advances the world has made over the last 20 years, our quality of life has been getting progressively WORSE not better.
