I started learning guitar on my dads guitar then he passed away shortly after. it’s been several months but I picked up his guitar for the first time since then and this song has had a huge significance since then. I feel like he spoke to me through this song after he passed. He always loved music and would love it when I would play him guitar or piano. I feel so close to him playing this song on his guitar. Thank you for sharing this and spreading joy throughout everyone learning how to play 💜

Tom petty was the greatest American Rock musician of the 80s and 90s. His music will never be overplayed. It simply never gets old and always takes me back to the good old days.

Thanks Marty! New to guitar at 67 yo and your video had me playing one of my favorite Petty tunes in a day or two. A friend tried to teach me but it just wasn’t working.

This was my favorite song to play as a beginner. I played it with capo on the 3rd fret. Just played D and A chord. Just ad pinky to bottom of D chord . Love your videos and lessons. I've learned so many new songs. Thanks Marty.

Thank you for teaching me Wish you were here and this one. Your instincts for pacing, chit chat and what's important are simply bang on. That you are a likeable dude sure doesn't hurt too Marty. What a great age to live in that this and you exist!

Your my first inspiration in 2010. It was me my acoustic as we jammed to nothing else matters. When I graduated to electric one of the songs that got me tapping out was "Good Enough". Fast forward 10 years, I still can NOT replicate and still stumped. I can play Transsiberian tracks so I have some talent. There is no one that walks you through this song so maybe artists feels like I do???

Thanks so much for clearing up this great Tom Petty song which seem simple (and are in one sense) but have some tricky nuanced details.
