Thank you

I live in Southwest Florida where the water is very, very shallow. A stern drive where the prop is deeper in the water is a disadvantage over an outboard here even when the water is rough because there are a lot of great places to go where you’ll hit the bottom with a stern drive.

I'm looking into a pontoon but ended up getting a small one due to I have a 4 door jeep and that is all it can pull. Please due a show on tow vehicles needed to pull your boat.

Currently on my third toon, first one was a fixer upper to get the covered slip. Second was an insurance salvage unit that needed a few repairs. Just retired and bought a two year old 22 ft tri-toon with a 150 hp engine. My slip rental is $2, 500 annually and winter storage is $900, Break out another thousand.

I just recently purchased a new Tritoon, and the Best Captain On the Water Videos were fantastic. It’s well worth the $47. FYI

I'm a bit jealous of how a pontoon boat can just open the front door and nose up to a dock to pick up and drop people off😂. I don't think there's a better family lake boat design for a swim platform camping platform and fishing. I wouldn't buy one for sport as long as it can get me back to the dock at a decent speed so I can get out of a approaching storm I'd be happy.

There are many places you can rent pontoon boats from. Rent one a few times before buying you will make a better purchase

I’m only renting but this is immensely helpful food for thought. Also helps to know when it is worth renting a more expensive boat (chop, heavy passengers etc)

You’ve just given me some great info which has along with our initial choice, cause looks as though and quite by accident I might add, have bought a pretty decent older toon!thanks for the video!!

my best advice would be to buy a v-hull. They're much more fun to drive.

In general, when does it make sense to get "the bigger engine" option? For example, does the difference between a 200hp Yamaha and a 250hp Yamaha justify the added cost? When does spending the extra money on a bigger engine make sense? Thanks!

Very good video ... NEEDED ADVISE ... I am planning to buy a mid-level pontoon . My vision at the moment is to keep it on marine and once or twice a season go to some other lake for a couple of days, like people do with a boat. Plus, kids can learn how to ski. In Canada, the boating season is short.
I'm thinking of a 20ft tritoon with a 150hp engine, because it will be more difficult to drive with pontoon bigger size.
I guess this design gives more stability in rougher and calm water.
Is it practical to drive pontoon to different location? Is this a reasonable modification or it is overbuild ? Any particular brand you can recommend ?

Just wanna say thanks for putting out suck a informative video. We're moving to Lake Norman and I'll be purchasing a pontoon very soon.

Now I have to learn to drive it!

I picked up an old pontoon, (20') converted to a tritoon, with a 250 horse 2 stroke. What should I expect for speed? 28:26

What do you think about the tow loop that goes around the back of the outboard?
