At the beginning of the dream, Hank just looks annoyed. When the magician produces pictures of his wife, his expression becomes that of concern, almost as if he doesn't like what he's seeing and wishes it would stop. This look becomes more horrified and distorted when he sees the magician holding hands with his wife, as she looks at him with a look of passion in her eyes. The magician then literally enflames her, and when Hank confronts him, he disappears... through clouds of smoke.

Now, if you know the show, you know that Hank has a narrow urethra, and the doctors even told Hank and Peggy that they wouldn't be able to have children because of it. This very fact has spawned a popular fan theory that their neighbor, Bill, is actually Bobby's real father, because they look and act more alike. With all this in mind, after this dream in which Hank witnesses his wife being unfaithful to him, in an abstract sense, and he sees "his" son painting his room. When Hank sees the clouds, images begin flashing, most notably, the clouds that the magician produced, a closeup of the magician's crotch, and Bobby dipping the paintbrush into white paint in a manner that resembles masturbation. The apparent anger at, and attempted destruction of, the clouds that Bobby paints, symbolizes that Hank sees the clouds as an indicator that Bobby is the magician's son, and not his, and wants to destroy this black spot on his otherwise happy life.

This obsession pushes Bobby away from Hank, and the revelation disturbs and dishevels Hank to the point of madness. He foregoes basic hygiene and obsesses about the dream, creating real life representations of the dream by way of a box representing its central imagery, which in the dream represented the ultimate act of betrayal, sex and the conception of a child that was not his. He expresses his madness by the repetition of the word "Clouds?" on the walls of Bobby's room, as if to rub in Peggy's face that he knows of her affair. Her expression in response to this either demonstrates that his suspicions are true, and she knows she's been found out, or that their merely the delusional product of his sick and insecure mind, and she worries for her husband's sanity.

She goes to confront him, and whether out of an attempt to soothe her troubled husband, or out of a sense of guilt, she agrees to his request to get in the box, demonstrating a level of hesitation and fear that shows she has no idea what he has planned or is capable of. As she lowers her head into the box so that he can put the lid on it, you can clearly see that she has no face. This represents the culmination of Hank's madness and anger. He no longer sees Peggy as the love of his life, his wife, and the mother of his child, but as nothing, and as such, he feels nothing for her as he burns her alive, enacting revenge on her infidelity, whether it was real or imagined, by copying the imagery of his dream, and burning her alive in a sense of twisted justice.
