My mum dyed her hair (it’s just on her roots, you can barely see, also made with halal ingredients) and wears a hijab over it (she doesn’t show it off) she only shows it at home and when we’re out, she’s shows it to her sisters and whatever female is in the house ✨

I read more about dying your hair pure black. It seems that the prophet (PBUH) told his companions to *avoid* it, but he never prohibited. It is mostly so that they do not deceive others (to deceive is a big sin) into thinking they are younger.
There is also a hadith which says that those who dye their hair pure black will not smell paradise. However, this hadith is unreliable, so it should not be taken by heart.
So, it is not entirely sure why we shouldn't dye our hair black. It is just better to avoid it just in case.

The reason why you cant dye your hair pure black is because your natural hair color would be block by the color black and removing the black color would take long especially if you have lighter hair color, or something like that. Anyway ive always wanted to dye a part of my hair red and its sad cause you know-
