This Hunter Build Ruined Build Battles

The other day a viewer submitted a build for a Grandmaster Build Battle that was so good, we just had to make a video on it. This strand build will also perform incredibly inside of the new onslaught game mode.

For survivability, you should try Threaded Specter over Widow's Silk. With Mothkeeper's already giving 2 charges, you're still constantly charging a grenade and rarely ever build up more than 2. The clone will take aggro from you and spawn more threadlings when/if it gets killed.

This is how I know Cross isn't a Hunter main. Most hunter mains made this build as soon as those exotics came out lol. He's just now discovering it and it's blowing his mind

I've been using this build since season of the witch, I call it the summoner build and use threaded spectre instead of widows silk, with a demo/hatchling rufus so the nade regen is super fast. So much fun to play, summoning moths, beyblades, hatchlings, and spectres!

Ex Diris is great, and the extra moths are for sure very useful. It has great ammo economy and the buffs made it even better. I also use Quicksilver Storm with this build since every kill from the GL part of the weapon makes a tangle and the fact that it has free built in special ammo can't be overlooked. It has infinite ammo and you can generate the GL shots forever so you're not truly running double primary. You can then run whatever sidearm you want in the energy slot if barriers are still a problem or if your team refuses to run champ weapons/abilities. The moth grenades are so plentiful even without Ex Diris so you can pretty much always have one when you need to stun the unstops. You could also run a solar hand cannon with unstoppable in the energy slot and proc radiant, then use your heavy for anti barrier if you don't run overload rocket. Basically, you don't have to use the GL if you don't have it or don't want to run it as you'll have a ton of moth grenades anyway. I main Titan but I've been using the moth arms on my hunter for months. Glad Aztecross is having fun with it as it's a fun build to use when not running celestial solar.

What i love about this build is that it's so classic hunter. Fast paced, quick and involves a lot of mobility

Another thing that's amazing with this build is the INSANE DAMAGE RESISTANCE. Woven Mail plus Void Over shield plus Speed Booster (yes, it gets DR too) from Amplified. That IMO is the most insane part of this build. I can't think of another way to proc all of those buffs solo.

Imo thread of transmutation isnt the play - thread of fury will be very regularly giving you melee energy as maelstroms will count as tangle damage (plus any bonus return catch energy you can manage) and you will be creating tangles on any severed targets you kill regardless of if you have woven mail or not

Love that people are finding out about this build. Been using it since last season and it’s a carry. You get invis with the threaded specter, void overshield, blind which also stuns unstops, and an underrated gun. It’s 1000% worth trying at least once so you can truly understand what fun is

Strand hunter has one of the best kits in the game and I’m happy people are starting to figure it out

I've used something very similar before and yeah these exotics feel best on strand. One of the strongest combos in the game is having woven mail and a void overshield together, since their extreme DR stacks together. Moths let you do this on strand while also providing potent crowd control and ad clear with all the unraveling projectiles and blinding effects this build can produce.

My only piece of advice is once this season ends this build can't produce threadlings on its own anymore, so instead of boosting threadlings try the thread that grants melee energy from tangle damage. This grants absurd melee uptime with whirling maelstrom, and you can use the rope dart uptime to feed into your grenade as well as more tangles. It also severs pretty much everything allowing you to further protect you and your allies.

Bro I made this build the week I got these two exotics back in season of the witch. It’s so much fun and I use a god roll cold comfort to be a literal Swiss Army knife, maximum ad control, great survivability and intense burst dps(reload on dodge/grenade throw…literally 5 rockets at in not even 5 seconds!!) I love this build

Another really fun build with strand is using agers sceptor and the rocket sidearm with assassins cowl. Run a special finisher and an arc orb maker and ull pretty much be op with infinite special and woven mail. With the right build set up, u can suspend/freeze everything in high density fights.

I have almost the same build. Except I have Threaded Spector over Widows Silk. Two grenades at bare minimum through the exotic feels enough to me, and with TS you get basically Strand’s version of invisibility. Every time you pop it, it immediately gains the ire of every enemy around, meaning they ignore you. Pair with Recuperation for health on orb pickup and you have a panic button that drops a clone as a distraction and gets you full health through Recuperation and Powerful Attraction to continue the slaughter. Love using it!
