I've been following this as closely as I can since the US-sponsored coup in 2014 and the subsequent 8 years of genocidal attacks on Donbass. What this man says is in agreement with what I have seen. I don't know why the commenters below seem to see a completely different person than I see, but I do know that my countrymen have been trained to never ever see the truth in foreign policy matters and if they do see it, to never admit to it. I'm sure many would say I'm a traitor for not embracing the lies, but I believe that a liar will surely meet his comeuppance and so it is the liars that are traitors and are bringing about a very hard and sad time for the people of my country.

AP has deliberately done a selective translation of what Lukashenko has been saying, leaving away phrases and words from his dialogues that would present a more holistic view of his point, and in a better way express his feelings to the people in the west, only to keep the people in the west in darkness about the events in East Europe, and the history of the region.
