As part of the RS3 MK7.5 swap I did custom seatbelts from @SeatbeltPlanet They are one of my favorite parts of the whole project. But as a dirty mechanic, I didn't want the bright yellow custom seatbelts to get messed up. So my buddy Dustin ceramic coated them!

Silicone spray like is used to protect cloth shoes or Amsoil silicone spray.

Honestly I kinda wanna get new seatbelts with a non factory colour now. I mean they’re 20 years old, that’s a good excuse right?

I highly doubt he'd be using the same coating you'd apply to paint as it only bonds to clear coat (unless hes unaware), there are dedicated fabric coatings from brands like gyeon, gtechniq and carpro that have roughly 12 months of durability. Smells like IPA when its curing.

As a detailer, ive never heard of any "stages" on a coating system either hahahahah. Pls find out what hes using cos im curious!

Does the ceramic coating protect against roadie snack crumbs? I'm wondering if Seabelt Panet can do green and blue TFFs on my seat belts. I'll go bug them and see.✨☎️

Can this be done even in 20 year Old seatbelts?

Ceramic won't last forever mate. 3-5 years if that

Dude.. April Fool's is a year away... hope you didn't pay for this age's version of "Simonizing the seats" or "electronic rust proofing"...

Seems like a proper DWR would have been a better choice since they're made for fabrics.
