Thanks for featuring this ancient African writing system still preserved in use by the Ekpe group of west Africa. Its a system of writing developed much like the Chinese system of writing using ideograms.

I remember reading that book and being so shocked that one of the characters had scoliosis (like me!). Cool to see it turned into a strength.

I've just started this series & plan to review it, so far it was predictable (main character being the chosen one), but I am looking forward to see how she grows over the three books!

I rarely read series. And if it has more than 3 books I skip it. Especially if books themselves are long. Also I don't start series in process (at least try to) because I don't have time. 🤣

I read the first in this series and liked it well enough, but I haven’t continued. Similar to you, I found that that the story didn’t really stick with me, so I sort of forgot about it.
