Today marks 23 years since the horrific attacks of September 11th in America. We commemorate the victims, and emergency service workers all over the nation.

This bring back memories, I am turning 15 in 2025, and let me just say, I wish I met my grandfather. He was so kind, and loving, but sadly, he did pass away inside of this event. Rest in piece to him. He was not only a great person, but also a very thoughtful person and ALWAYS put others before himself. He was 42 when he passed away that day. His name still stands in the 9/11 memorial. Wilbur Frank Ignico. rest In Piece Grandpa, wish I was born sooner so I can at least say "Hi." See you in the afterlife. 💔💔

**September 11th 2001**

On this day, 2, 996 good men and women woke on a beautiful Tuesday morning in New York City. They then began there regular morning commute, expecting a regular day at work. For others, some had just started school and were looking forward to getting to see their friends and teachers. Little did they know in just a few hours, the world would change forever

At approximately 8:46 am, a hijacked airplane heading from Boston to Los Angeles hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center. At approximately 9:03 am, a second hijacked plane struck the South Tower of the World Trade Center. Within hours, both towers would collapse killing thousands of people.

343 firefighters, 72 police officers, and 8 medical personnel lost their lives that day. These brave men and women ran into those towers, knowing the risk of not making it out. Despite this, their selflessness and bravery helped save many people that day.

This was not only an attack on the city of New York, but an attack on the United States and an attack on freedom.

Today we remember and honor the lives lost 23 years ago and humble our hearts to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice that day.

Today was remembrance day in Canada and there was an assembly in our school, we all got the poppies and the teachers taught us about the history of Canada and the people who did sacrifices for their family, friends and the country. The assembly was so emotional, but I literally saw people laughing in the assembly and disrespecting the poppies. I was so shocked since it was my first remembrance day in Canada, I was not even born in Canada, but I still could feel the pain for some reason, like I was related to it. And I just came home and checked the awesome man's channel, and saw this and this made me so emotional too. Let's take a moment and thank our ancestors and the people who sacrificed. Peace out!
