I saw the movie in the theaters... On a date... Watched over half of the audience leave in the first 30-40 min... They never got to see this miraculous story to the end or to this moment.

I'm glad though... I was crying by the middle of the movie. Wasn't even paying attention to the date. She didn't care to discuss the movie afterwards...

No matter. The story, the music the point... I got what I didn't even realize I needed. A gift.

Everything about this scene is absolute perfection. Its the very essence of what it means to use the tools we have with filmmaking to capture beauty. Forever.The close up shots in particular are an obsession of mine. There’s countless “beautiful” movies and I love so many of them but there will forever only be a select few films and sequences that transcend the medium entirely.
