As Dan Marino is possibly the greatest QB to never win a Super Bowl, Ed Harris might be the greatest Actor to never win an Oscar. I was stunned he didn't win for Pollack. (Crowe won for Mad Maximus (Gladiator.)) I love actors (and actresses) than can play good guys and bad guys (and in-between people). Ed Harris is good in both roles. Humphrey Bogart could do it (Caine Mutiny vs Casablanca vs The African Queen vs The Treasure of the Sierra Madre). Spencer Tracey couldn't. All he could play were good, strong guys, never weak guys or bad guys (except for Jeckyll and Hyde). Tom Hanks has never been able to play a bad guy (Road to Perdition doesn't count - he's the good guy in that.) Poor Ed.
