Combined floss ligatures for rubber dam isolation

Start by making a simple ligature (see previous videos for more information). Insert a second floss inside the first loop and make a second simple ligature. The two are now combined together. Tighten one of the two ligatures before applying it around the tooth to be ligated. Then wrap around the tooth and tighten the second ligature, making the locking knot. The two ligatures now apply retraction to the vestibular and lingual sides of the tooth, as a clamp would.
