Ever have one of those travel days that leaves you so annoyed, stressed, and generally all around tense by the time the airline finally gets you to your destination?

That's exactly how I felt when I finally landed in Istanbul, after what should've been a three hour flight, quickly turned into about ten hours sitting on the plane.

I'll admit, it was easily one the most disorganized, chaotic, and uninformed experience I've ever had with an airline and airport for that matter - first we flew over Istanbul airport for an hour hoping to land and then were told we had to fly further away to land in Ankara, where they made us sit on the plane for 3+ hours with no food or beverage service, and no explanation of what was happening.

Then, when we finally made it back to Istanbul hours later, all exhausted and frustrated, our bags were put on the wrong belt, so everyone from our flight spent about an hour trying to find them - turns they were put on a belt saying they came from Moscow when we came from Nice!

Thank goodness, Istanbul is a place I've spent lots of time exploring so missing out on hand a day of exploring because of the airline wasn't a huge deal (I've been there 5 times over the last few years).

Lucky for me, the last time I was there I was quite stressed and ended up finding the best affordable massage spot on the European side of Istanbul (Let's Relax Foot Massage).

You better bet I booked myself in bright and early for a two hour treatment (only roughly 60USD!) to get recharged before a day of walking around Istanbul.

We'll walk around Galata Tower, do some shopping at the Bazaar, as well as Istiklal, the famous shopping street on the European side, pet some of the famous cats of Istanbul, check out some views of the Bosphorus, and snack on local cheeses and wines before turning in for an early night.
