It is absolutely a horrific loss that Tim died. I have been a fan of this band for 10 years!

Tim Akers. Thank you for this amazing music. Very few can appreciate it . Its complicated, full of harmony, horns, rhythm changes. But those who do they keep you in their hearts. I do. Thank you SIR. R.I.P

This should be mandatory viewing for every young musician & vocalist on earth. Simply tell them ~ “When you reach this level, you can take a week off from practice”.
GOOD GRIEF

Why is this not mainstream? Actual instruments with live players. It's a wonderful thing.

I can't stop listening to this. The arrangement is totally awesome!! The musicians, singers, production and mixing all top notch! But that horn section blows me away!!! I think I will have to try to transcribe those chord progressions. So slick. I love it! And the lead vocalist reminds me of Chaka Khan in a really good way.

I was just re-visiting this channel and being enthralled again by Tim Aker's brilliant music.. ..and then I see the heartbreaking news that he passed away last year. I'm stunned . What a great loss. My heart goes out to his family and friends, including all of the amazing musicians he brought together to create such phenomenal music. I'm so sorry I never got to see him and The Smoking Section playing live. Was planning to go to Nashville one day to see them and thank them... then the pandemic happened. My heart is heavy. Sending prayers for peace.

I really have a hard time when people start messing with Adele, but that voice and those horns.. Every. Time. Y'all could sing the phone book. No lie.

Absolutely KILLER This made me forget all about Adele's rather maudlin rendition.

These horn players are the cream of the crop! I've seen some of them performing in 'Vegas with another amazing band called Santa Fe and The Fat City Horns! The whole band was smokin' hot!

WOW, been following Tim & TSS for some time, on you tube. As a 69yr. old Pittsburgh musician, worked in several bands through years. Retired, BUT, when I listen to Kim, KIm, Joey, Gene, I get to the point that the chills turn to tears as I listen to these unreal arrangments!!! Tim, you are a Master! I think true musicians know where I am coming from.
