I think this was the weirdest helicopter I've seen to date! On a day trip up island in May this year, I was lucky to catch this rare helicopter, operated by Heliqwest. The K-MAX is a unique design, in that it has two main rotors that are tilted, and spin through each other's rotor path. These helicopters are incredible rare, as only 60 were produced, and sadly the production line was closed this year.

Curious helicopter, but very useful! This rotorsystem appeared first on Anton Flettner's helicopters in the 1940's. Later Flettner worked for Kaman's company.
